Beyond.

When I sit and think about life

I am reminded of death

Not an ending

An unending, an unending

A set of stepping stones to the other, unknown.

I do not desire to know like the others

I have felt it, seen it

I have heard the death rattle of last breath

Where does the spirit go? They wonder.

I have perceived it

Not an ending

An unfolding, an unfurling.

Life spins from one spool to another, unseen

Mere existence wiped clean from our vantage point

But it is not gone

It is beyond, beyond.

There is no darkness

that is here on Earth.

There is only light,

Sunshine, breeze, eternal Spring,

Pure happiness.

No, I do not desire to question like the others

I feel, I see

It is not an ending.

It is a beginning, washed anew

A baptism, a birth

A soul released from the chains of body, bound.

I sit and ponder life-

This is part of the journey-

Learning, feeling, growing

Before the return home.

You have already experienced death,

It is just the beginning.
